Some Thanksgiving Fun!

May your stuffing be tasty
May your turkey plump,
May your potatoes and gravy
Have never a lump.
May your yams be delicious
And your pies take the prize,
And may your Thanksgiving dinner
Stay off your thighs!

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

In all seriousness though, be TRULY thankful for all that God has blessed you with. If you've got large thighs, be thankful that you have food to eat!

Count your blessings, not your money.

For true happiness, want what you have.

Be blessed!!! And, be a blessing to others. :)

Ornament Show was a good one!

I met lots of new people at the Christmas Ornament show yesterday in Burnsville. The turnout was great and I sold lots of ornaments!

Here's some photos I took to share with you. There were 32 tables of crafts! For the crafters, it's like a reunion each year. In a small town, we all know each other. :)
There was this cute little boy that was determined he was going to fit a pillow into a stocking! He was REFUSING any help. :)

Help me choose a color!

The cabinets are almost finished. The appliances are bisque which is almost white. I painted some of the cabinets tan which is darker than the wall color in the eating area, but you can only tell the difference when you see the edges of each color where they meet. So, I want to change the cabinet color. The countertops are black with tan spots.
Help me choose a cabinet color! What's your suggestion?

I'm going to put bead board between the counters and cabinets.

Remember, I want a primitive look. The wall color behind the stove area is the same as the eating area that has been painted already.

Wholesale shows & Christmas Ornament craft Show

Don't miss the Christmas Ornament Festival in Burnsville, NC this coming Saturday! If you're close enough to drive on over, come see us! It will be in the Burnsville Town Center, November 21st from 9:00-2:00. Each artist donates an ornament for the tree, and the tree is raffeled at $5.00 per ticket. The winner gets the tree and all the handmade ornaments! Entrance to the show is FREE.

Privies & Prims will be open from 11:00-5:00 Saturday. I'll be at the festival, and Judi will be at the store. The craft show is inside, so come and shop local and have some good refreshments! Sometimes there's a cute little boy selling fresh mistletoe. They shoot it down from the top of the trees! If he's there, tell him you want a kiss with the purchase. ;)

I've been thinking about venturing into the wholesale market and I'm trying to find a show that is for handmade items. I did find the Market Square show in Valley Forge and my sister lives near there, so that would be convenient. Since it would be my first show, does anyone have any suggestions for shows near NC or TN? I would like to not be overwhelmed, but my, what a good problem to have! Just a thought for now. I'm in the "research" mode.

We're moved in!

We moved in tonight! Still some odds and ends at the rental to pick up tomorrow. And, it's gonna be a challenge living through the remodel, but it should be done in the next week. No stove, kitchen sink, or useable cabinets, but hey, that's what mom's cooking is for!
We do have a working toilet and bathroom sink and we have a microwave and our new fridge is hooked up, so we're good to go. Kind of like camping. :)
The heater vents in the bedrooms are covered over with laminate, but it should be fine once we're under the covers and we can leave the bedroom doors open. They'll be cut out tomorrow.
I'm online (duh!), but it keeps going off and on, so I'll have to get that checked out. I'm running on a wireless antenna.
My 17 yr. old son has a friend sleeping over already. My son got the new Call of Duty game today for his PS3, so I may have some trouble getting them to go to bed!
The contractor will be here at 9am tomorrow, so no sleeping in.
We cleared a space in the bedrooms big enough to put our beds in and everything else is boxes. I'm just feeling blessed to be here!!! Ask me again when the mortgage payment is due. ;)
Till then, a bag of Cheetos, McDonald's sweet tea, and a "new to me" house. What more could I want???

It's moving day!

The day has FINALLY come for us to move in! There's still LOTS of work to do, but we've cleared space for our beds and we have a working bathroom, and we have to get out of our rental, soooooo we're moving in to the chaos!
Here's some photos I took last night.
I decided that I'm going to paint over the blue. It's just a bit much with all the doors. I'm going for a dark tan and light tan color scheme. Not exciting, but warm and cozy and I'll put some color in with the accessories.

Stay tuned!

More house photos~We're getting there!

I see the light at the end of the tunnel! Soon we'll have a working bathroom and kitchen and much needed heat! I must say though that a working toilet is at the top of my priority list! :)
Here's the latest photos if you're following along with me.

Handcrafted Christmas on Main Street

In the midst of my remodeling and moving, I must remember that Christmas is coming and coming very quickly! Forget my decorating the new house for fall, we're going straight to Christmas!

Last year some friends and I created "Handcrafted Christmas in the Cabin" and sold our handmade creations in a quaint little cabin that my father built. It was a great success and LOTS of fun! This year, someone is living in the cabin and I have a store on Main Street in Burnsville, so I have decided to do a one day "Handcrafted Christmas on Main Street".
I do sell Christmas crafts all year in my store, but this will be a special day with refreshments, a gift certificate drawing, and lots of new Christmas items that we'll be making for your gift giving.

I know it's a bit early, but I wanted ya'll to mark your calendars and plan to visit Privies & Prims on December 12th!

more "surprises"

When the contractor took the old toilet out today, the floor was rotted underneath it. Sooooo glad I decided to redo the bathroom!
Please keep us in prayer. We are supposed to move in this weekend and we may have to move in with mom and dad for a few days. Us and our 3 little dogs. :) Since mom and dad don't want 3 dogs, we need your prayers for quick finish!

Will add more photos tonight.

We've Got Bittersweet!!!

If you're looking for fresh bittersweet we've got it at Privies & Prims in Burnsville, NC. Get yours before it's gone!

New renovation photos!

Don't know where the days have gone, but we're ~supposed~ to move in our new house in a just a couple days and boy oh boy is there still lots of work to do!!!
The bedrooms are being painted today and the new laminate floors put in the living room and bedrooms so we can move in this weekend. I gave up doing the painting myself cause I was just too darn slow! Decided to redo the existing bath with beadboard and I took out the glass shower door.
I still don't have internet at home and they even trasferred my home phone line yesterday, so no home phone. Soon we'll be camping out!
I'm becoming a regular at Home Depot as we never seem to get everything we need. That wouldn't be so bad except that Home Depot is 45 minutes away. Tonight I'm going to Lowe's which is only 30 minutes away. I ~thought~ I would be packing tonight, but there's materials to buy so the contractor has them in the morning.

Here's some photos. I've journaled right on the photos so you'll know what's happening. I'll take some more asap.
Enjoy!
