Don't Forget
He knows he may not see some of his buddies again.
You walk down the beach, staring at all the pretty girls.
He patrols the streets, searching for insurgents and terrorists.
He's told he will be held over an extra 2 months.
You call your girlfriend and set a date for tonight.
He waits for the mail to see if there is a letter from home.
You hug and kiss your girlfriend, like you do everyday.
He holds his letter close and smells his love's perfume.
You roll your eyes as a baby cries.
He gets a letter with pictures of his new child, and wonders if they'll ever meet.
You criticize your government, and say that war never solves anything.
He sees the innocent tortured and killed by their own people and remembers why he is fighting.
You hear the jokes about the war, and make fun of men like him.
He hears the gunfire, bombs and screams of the wounded.
You see only what the media wants you to see.
He sees the broken bodies lying around him.
You are asked to do some thing by your parents. You don't.
He does exactly what he is told even if it puts his life in danger.
You stay at home and watch TV..
He takes whatever time he is given to call, write home, sleep, and eat.
You crawl into your soft bed, with down pillows, and get comfortable.
He tries to sleep but gets woken by mortars and helicopters all night long.
If you support your troops, pass this on.
REMEMBER our Troops, and do not forget them LATER.

My first cross-stitch mini-pillow!
I've been wanting to make one of these for a long time. I have to do it all! I added a little piece of vintage jewelry for some prim bling. :)
Click on the photo to see the listing~
Still on my growing list of things I want to try~ cake decorating, watercolor painting, paper mache sculptures.........
Here we go AGAIN!
And, it's snowing again! I took this photo only 2 hours after it started. It is coming down hard and it's gonna get deep! We could get up to 24 inches!!! Looks like I'll be home for a couple days. Then, it comes again on Tuesday with ice.
Think spring, think spring, think spring!
I found this gorgeous vintage bedspread today at an antique shop. The shop is called Kit-n-Kaboodle and it's right here in Burnsville. www.KitNKaboodleAntiques.com It belongs to a friend of mine and I'm trying to get her down on the price. :) It fits my bed perfectly and I like that it goes to the floor, even though I have my bed raised up. I think I like it!
Stay warm everyone~.

One Prim~One Cute~New dolls!!! & Valentine's Day Tree
Click on the photos to see the listings.
More snow coming in tomorrow. Keep warm! I'm thinking that maybe if I make enough spring things, the weather will change???
I'm still working on some more primitive dolls. I have an antique primitive kneeling/prayer bench in my store and my ~plan~ is to fill it with prim dolls! I'll need lots more snow days to make that actually happen. :)
I added LOTS more photos today on my store website slideshow. http://www.priviesandprims.com/. I even have a Valentine's Day/Easter/Spring tree decorated.
If you see anything in the slideshow pictures that you'd like to buy, just let me know. There's no way I would have the time to post ~everything~ that is in my store. If you're in Burnsville, NC soon, be sure and stop by in person so you don't miss anything that you simply couldn't live without. :) The Valentine's mini-pillows are listed in my etsy shoppe. www.PriviesAndPrims.etsy.com

Primitive Valentines and stitcheries
Can be used as ornaments to decorate a Valentines Day tree, for peg hangers, and pillows or bowl fillers simply by removing the floss hangers.
They've been brushed with coffee and are hanging to dry. I should be able to list them tomorrow in my etsy shoppe!

Is spring coming soon???
I am ready for spring.
I was looking at photos of my house last night, that I took this past summer when I first started the buying process. There were bright green leaves on the trees and bright green grass! It looks like a different property! I'm sure spring will be here before we know it, but I for one would like it to hurry up. :)
I'm off now until Wednesday, and I'll be working on some spring crafts. Bunnies, chicks, Valentine's Day ornies, etc. They'll be done by Wednesday, so stop in the store and get ya some stuff to warm the heart, even if it is freezing outside!
Stay warm everyone and be thankful that you don't have to use an outhouse anymore!

New dolls & organization
Remember the computer armoire that I bought for $29.99? Here's a couple photos of it. It came in real handy!
The new "girls" have had their makeup done and now they're waiting for new hairdos and then they go shopping for some new clothes. A few of them will probably need a spray coffee tan to prim them up a bit more. :)
I'm at 22-3/4 hours now. I should be able to finish them in the next few days. I've got the clothing fabric picked out, but still have to cut it and sew it, then grunge it. Lots to do, but so much fun!
The sun is shining and I think the angels have finally stopped having their pillow fight, cause there's no more white stuff falling from the sky. Time for a heat wave! Tomorrow it's supposed to be in the 40's.
As soon as I finish the dolls, I'll be posting them on etsy. http://www.priviesandprims.etsy.com/
p.s. I went to Erwin, Tn yesterday and found my spot for the Apple Festival. My booth (#249) will be right in front of the movie theatre, kind of across from the Unicoi Chamber of Commerce.

Ice Sculpture on my van!!!
I quickly filled the tub and 4 gallon jugs so we would have some water to use until it gets fixed.
Sure is pretty cool looking isn't it!
We have city water, so we'll be paying for this one. The blessing in this is that someone saw it and it didn't spray out all night!
Update: The top of the pipe has been cut off, the remaining pipe capped off, wrapped in insulation, and covered up. We only went without water for one night and it was fixed the next morning. Not too bad after all. :)

I'm accepted!
I did this show once about 5 years ago and it didn't work out too well. I was on the side street and it POURED rain! They even let us close up early.
This time, I'm paying the extra money to be on Main St. where the 100,000 visitors are! If you've ever been to this show, you know that the side streets don't get even close to the people that are on Main St.
I'll be stitchin all winter, spring & summer to get ready for this one and Waynesville Apple Festival is 2 weeks later, so I'll have to stitch in my sleep!
http://www.unicoicounty.org/applefest.php
I'm still working on some new primitive dolls. I sewed the parts and turned them last night. Tonight I'll be stuffing them. Seven dolls at one time! I'm timing it since people always ask me how long it takes to make a doll. So far, I've got about 6-1/2 hours in and still have to stuff, assemble, paint, needle sculpt, sew on hair, and make the clothes. I'll post photos as soon as they're done.
If you're waiting for a photo of my computer armoire, it's still in my van, so the photo won't be posted soon. I have to unpack and organize my craft room before I bring it in. Maybe by next Christmas??? :)
stay warm ya'll~~~~~
My nephew named Athlete of the Week!
Athlete of the Week: Wrestler always works
Danny Bell has done everything to make Flowery Branch’s wrestling program a competitive one.
He’s practiced for hours perfecting his craft, changed weight classes for the betterment of the team, and brought the program to the medal stand of last year’s Class AAA state tournament by winning the 119-pound weight class.
Bell can now add first four-time county champion to the list of his accomplishments.
Bell, a senior, became the Falcons’ first four-time county champ with wins by decision on Friday during Day 1 of the competition.
For his efforts, Bell is this week’s Athlete of the Week.
“It feels good to know that all that hard work has paid off,” Bell said after the competition.
And coach Shane Lancaster feels the same.
“It’s an honor as a coach to witness Danny win his fourth title,” he said. “His desire, his drive and his work ethic aren’t what you see in most teenagers. He deserves all the recognition and titles he’s received.”
Bell won his first and second titles at 112 pounds as a freshman and sophomore, and went on to score two more titles at 119.
“(Danny’s) actually still light enough to wrestle at 112,” Lancaster explained of Bell’s division change. “Last year he chose to wrestle at 119 for the team. The transition has been very smooth, it almost seems natural.”
That transition also helped lead Flowery Branch to its third straight Hall County title.
Bell had wins by pin against North Hall and West Hall, and was named the Hall County Wrestling Championships’ most outstanding wrestler for the 103-140 pound divisions on Saturday night at the Falcons’ home gym.
“He did great,” Lancaster said. “It was truly an opportunity for him to step up and be a team leader. His performance gave the team the motivation it needed.”
The third county title didn’t come easy though.
North Hall defeated Flowery Branch in the first match of Day 2, but the Falcons bounced back and won eight of the next nine matches to lock up the win.
Against West Hall it was much of the same.
The Spartans defeated Flowery Branch in four early matches that kept the teams at a close 9-6. However, the Falcons turned the tide and won eight of the last 10 matches to secure the title.
“Making those two runs wasn’t something we expected to do,” Lancaster said. “It wasn’t planned. I give full credit to the kids. It’s a major source of pride for the team. ”
When asked about Bell’s work ethic, Lancaster explained: “Danny has always been the type to have the utmost respect for authority. He does what he’s asked in the wrestling room. There’s never any excuses to find ways out of working.”
Flowery Branch visits West Forsyth to participate in the Region 7-AAA Area Duals on Friday in Cumming.

Not much~~~
I found a black computer armoire at Salvation Army thrift store on New Years Eve for only $30 and went back to pick it up today. It wouldn't fit in my mom's trunk, so I had to pick it up in my van. I'll post a photo after I get it out of the van and set up.
It's soooooooooooo cold here and we had flurries most of the day. I sincerely hope that you all are staying warm and safe in the bad weather. I plan to get some organizing and unpacking done in the next few days. Maybe then I can get back to working on those doll bodies that I cut out last week. :) I've applied for the Apple Festival in Erwin, TN in October and two weeks later is the Apple Festival in Waynesville, NC. With the huge crowds they get, I figure I have to start making inventory now and I "might" have enough!
blessings~
